🌟 The Courage of Lia (Name Changed for Protection

On a beautiful autumn day in Hawaii, Lia (name changed for protection) found herself in a difficult situation—grieving the loss of her husband, without stable housing, with very limited income, and without a car. Despite these challenges, she courageously sought help and reached out to Bella Bond Foundation (BBF) via Zoom.

That same day, her close friend, who had been temporarily sheltering her, also joined the call to share their situation. Moved by their struggle, we immediately decided to transfer a donated vehicle to Lia’s name, which had been given to our foundation a few months earlier.

Beyond transportation, we also helped her find new income opportunities and a more stable place to live, setting her on the path toward homeownership.

Overcoming Challenges and Building a Future

Lia’s journey took determination. She met with us face-to-face several times—first to finalize the car transfer, then to evaluate her work capabilities, as she had been laid off due to an accident that left her with limitations.

Determined to rebuild her life, Lia started her own business—preparing and selling Hawaiian-style donuts. Together, we helped her find a business route that could generate up to $10,000 per month, taking her from $0 in income to a clear path toward financial stability.

However, not everyone around her embraced this transformation. Her so-called friend, Johana (name changed for privacy), reacted negatively to our quick actions. Instead of supporting Shanarya, she publicly questioned our foundation’s legitimacy and spread doubts online about whether Lia’s grief was real.

This moment revealed a deeper truth—there are those who truly seek to change their lives and those who remain stuck in their own misery. Unfortunately, Johana was not the friend Lia thought she was. The moment Lia started succeeding—finding a clear path to financial independence and homeownership—Johana kicked her out, leaving her and her two children on the street, throwing all their belongings in trash bags.
