Q1 & Q2 2025: Highlights, Challenges, and What’s Next

Let’s be real — 2025 started out rock and roll. The kind of rock and roll that shakes your heart, tests your mission, and forces you to remember why you started.
At the start of the year, we were fully committed to the Kahaluʻu Nature Sanctuary project — a bold, community-rooted initiative designed to give back to the Hawaiian people. We reached the top finalist stage of a government grant. The momentum was real.
Then… things turned.
A neighbor, upset and misinformed, distributed an outdated version of our pamphlet — one we had already revised — and used it to spread fear and confusion. What followed was a domino effect of resistance, misjudgment, and even hostility.
Unexpectedly, some foundations turned against us, influenced by narratives that were simply not true. That was especially difficult to accept, knowing how challenging it already is to run a nonprofit with integrity. Foundations should support and uplift each other — not tear one another down.
For Bella, the founder of Bella Bond Foundation, the emotional toll was deep. She had spent over five months building this project with love, clarity, and full presence — putting in her heart, her savings, and her design expertise. Being met with opposition, misinformation, and unjust attacks was crushing. There was a moment when she considered walking away. The pain was real. The betrayal ran deep. Ultimately, Bella remembered why she founded this organization in the first place. And that’s when the turning point began.
Thankfully, some of those same foundations eventually realized the truth and have since reached out in private. Others… remain in resistance. And that’s okay. Because what matters most is not who opposes you —It’s how you choose to move forward.
And so, we rose. Quietly. Powerfully. With purpose.
While Bella, took a step back to breathe and reflect, Mario pressed on — meeting with families, sitting with small local business owners, and holding space where it was most needed. The foundation didn’t stop. It didn’t collapse. It transformed.
We took all that weight — the heartbreak, the injustice, the lessons — and turned it into fuel. Fuel for a new kind of growth. Fuel for building long-term systems that don’t depend on approval or external permission.
Because our mission is to empower people to sustain themselves for a lifetime, we have to live that truth within our own structure.
Because at the end of the day, what matters most is not how you fall — but how you get back up. In the months that followed, we poured ourselves into creation. We may have been less visible online, but behind the scenes, the foundation has never been more alive.
What We’ve Built Since Then
From February to June, with Bella fully back on track and leading the charge with Mario (Treasurer), we focused on securing the future of our innovations. We filed intellectual property protections for our high-tech modular housing system, copyrighted our hotel concepts, developed new inventions, registered architectural designs, and filed new trademarks. Many of these designs are entirely original — and deserve full protection.
Then came the next step: building the systems that bring these innovations to life.
In June 2025, Bella Bond Foundation established two mission-aligned ventures — designed not only to address real-world challenges, but also to support the long-term sustainability of the Foundation’s mission.
BBMIS (Bella Bond Modular Intelligent System) — a 1,500-acre AI-powered manufacturing facility in Texas that produces sustainable modular homes and architectural components with speed, precision, and recycled materials, helping families and communities access affordable, eco-friendly housing.
Miltoria Signature, launched under Milton Hotel Resort Inc., is a visionary five-star hotel brand rooted in biophilic design and wellness, with two projects already under development — one in Texas and one in Florida.
These ventures are not side projects — they are mission-driven extensions of the Foundation’s program strategy. They exist to create sustainable impact and to strengthen our ability to serve communities over time.
Grants are unstable. Our mission is not. That’s why we chose a model built to last.
Although BBMIS and Miltoria operate as legally independent, for-profit entities, they were founded under the Foundation’s mission framework to advance social good. Both are in their development stage, building the infrastructure and systems that generate sustainable support for the Foundation’s charitable work.
Through a mission-oversight framework and program-related investment approach, Bella Bond Foundation ensures that these ventures remain aligned with its values and public-benefit objectives. All proceeds directed to the Foundation are used exclusively to advance its charitable programs — never for private benefit — in full compliance with U.S. nonprofit law (IRS 501(c)(3)).
This structure allows us to grow responsibly, stay mission-aligned, and create lasting impact without depending solely on external grants.
Back Home in Hawaii
Meanwhile, one of our most meaningful projects is reaching its next major milestone.
Our 5,000 sq ft single-family home is now approaching the final stage of the construction permit process, having officially entered the permitting phase with the City on July 11, 2025. This marks a major turning point after nearly two years of preparation.
This home sits on preservation land, one of the most regulated land categories in Hawaiʻi. From the beginning, many said it couldn’t be done. Some local firms called us crazy. They said no one would support a project like this —A biophilic design, on pillars, using recycled materials, on protected land. They said it would cost millions. That it wasn’t realistic.
And maybe they were right — we are a little crazy. Crazy enough to believe. Crazy enough to begin. Crazy enough to keep going when others would’ve stopped. Because for us, trying something bold is always better than staying silent.
Nearly two years of work went into gathering everything required:
Archaeological reports
Environmental and topography studies
Engineering and architectural plans
Soil capacity testing
Reaching this stage usually costs millions — but we chose a different path.
Thanks to Bella’s design leadership, Mario’s local network, the support of Hawaiian businesses, dedicated volunteers, and generous in-kind contributions, we’ve reduced costs by over 90%.

This isn’t just a win on paper —It’s proof that when people come together with purpose, even the toughest challenges become possible.
And more than anything, it sends a message:
We can do more with less. We can build differently.
Want to be part of what’s next?
Donations are always welcome.Your support — whether it's financial, sharing our story, or simply spreading the word — makes a real difference.
We’ve also opened our SAFE Agreements (Simple Agreement for Future Equity) for both BBMIS and The Miltoria Signature — offering an opportunity to join our mission through equity.
Are interested in partnering, or simply have questions, feel free to reach out: bellabondfoundation@gmail.com
And all you do is read and trust —that already means the world to us.
Thank you for being here. We’re just getting started.
